Aunties Brag

Hello again blog, been a while. Been busy and you have been last on my list sadly, but not forgotten.

I've been thinking about this for over a week now but I'm finally able to sit down with a few moments that I'm stealing from cleaning the hurricane that hit my house this weekend with 4 boys running around resulting in every toy from the toy closet brought out. This weekend my brother Matt and his wife Jessica visited with their boys who are the same age as my boys. Fun times, fun times. Normally we go up every few months and they come down but unfortunately we have only gone up once in about a year since my wreck last June. My temp-car is not very comfortable and hurt my back plus not much room in it, really need to step up on finding a new one.

Getting to my brag, as much as I love my little nephews this one is about my oldest nephew.

Two weekends ago hubs and I packed up my dad's jimmy and headed north to Longview to spend the day with my mom, sister and her fam. That day was opening ceremonies for Dj's baseball league up there,  luckily with no rain. Opening day Dj's team had a double header and he did so amazing, I'm not just saying that because he is my nephew, okay maybe just a little, but he really is an amazing baseball playing. He might also be the shortest on the team but he is probably the fastest. Check out my videos below of him sliding home, first game 14-1, second 4-1 (first time his team every beat that team!!) this past weekend their team won one game and lost one. 3-1 good start!

Sick of the weather, and just sick

Last week started out a great week.

Tuesday night my niece and nephew came to stay with us for their spring break. We love having them come to stay with us, but I think Carter thinks they come just to play with him. He loves his cousin so much.

Thursday night brought a hard thing that this mom for sure doesn't like to deal with, a sick baby. My world just falls apart when one of the boys are sick, I feel so helpless and useless. I'm sure many moms feel the same, or at least I hope so and that I'm not alone. I took Mason to Kaiser Urgent Care, waited an hour and found out that he just had a sore throat and fever. The advise nurse said a possible bladder infection so I was very relieved to hear that is was just a sore throat, and not strep. We just got Carter over strep, still not sure how he got it, or how its caught but its over and I'm happy.....well was happy.

Swimming, hot dog roast, birthday cake (very small piece for me) and good family time the weekend was full of, until Saturday night. I was suddenly hit with a sore throat and headache. Sunday morning I didn't feel much better, thankfully my husband came home much earlier then expected because the boat his grandpa's boat started taking on water 15 mins after they were out. Sad start to the season but very funny because this is not the first time this has happened, just a new boat. And since I'm allergic to seafood, it was nice not to have a smelly husband upon his return.

Laying in bed all day Sunday did not bring much refreshment since this morning my throat was even more on fire. But I did sleep much better with only one wake up call from Mason, on top of his cold his molars are working in. After about 30 mins rocking together, with no songs, he was ready to go back to bed.

As the morning has gone by Carter's cheeks got pinker and pinker, and he was calm which is very out of the norm for him. Fighting him to check his temperature; it read 100.4 . Yea for mommy, another sicky kid. Again I feel helpless with a sick kid, medicine and lots of loves, what can we do?

My poor husband has to come home to a sick wife, and kid after work very hard all day and take care of us. This is going to be very interesting since the house is my domain. As I'm positive he will do a great job, he is just not very domestic.

Hope all and everyone is well in your home.
Have a great week!
