Nothing to do

What a wonderful weekend.
With nothing we HAVE to do, we had such a lazy relaxing weekend.

Friday night we started the weekend off with just hanging out at my in-laws. Playing monopoly on the wii with my brother in law.

Saturday, we went over to Lowes in the morning to their build it workshop for kids. Carter just loves going there and building the stuff. After we are done we wonder the store and think about what we want to upgrade around the house. We have a good idea about what we want to do next, thinking new water saving toilets, paint, mirrors, and vanities for all three bathrooms. When we got home, hubs and I sat down together and watch one of our fav comedians stand up, and half an other guy. Do you know Gabriel Iglesias and Jeff Dunham? Funny stuff, but I have to say my all time fav is Dane Cook because I took hubs to see him for Fathers Day a few years ago. Can't wait until he come back. The evening went back to the in laws and what else? Played monopoly on the wii, but some family came into town so there  was a little gathering.

Sunday, lazy morning until time for church. Then back to the in laws because Carter wanted to go hang out some more.

Once again, lazy weekend. I love weekend like this, it's a rare thing to have nothing we have to go do and too cold to do the things we should.

Hope you had a good weekend!  Enjoy the last day of February 2011 and have a great week.

OH, BIG THING IN THE PROCESS THIS WEEKEND, PICKING A NAME FOR MY LITTLE BUSINESS.....any thought? I was thinking scrap 'n stitch boutique but there is a company called that in KY yeah me :( so on it must go. Ruse Boutique, it means craftiness in French.....hum.

Snow flakes and smile

This morning I woke to my three year old busting into my room and saying with so much excitement in his voice, "mommy, daddy, look it snowed!!! look look," while pulling our curtains up. Sweetly replying to my little man with much sleepiness in my voice trying to act just as excited as him, "yes, honey it snowed didn't it. It's very pretty, huh?" "yeah, mommy."

I didn't have the heart to show him last night when he awoke, knowing he would never go back to sleep. Daddy crawled into bed and slept with the sweet boy until 4:30am when I went in very quietly to wake daddy for work. Hubs work cancelled today probably do to the cranes outside being frozen or too dangerous to operate. So sleep in my husband did with out a second thought, but I do have to say I'm surprised he didn't play a little Black Ops first.

After I got up with little man this morning and got him and brother breakfast; back to bed I went watch the news coverage about the snow. Later on when brother's nap time came around, little man said, "lets go outside and build a snowman," out we went after bundling up. Snowball fight, one no angel, and three little snowmen later, we were finished. My cousin Allan and Daddy came to help a little.

I love this picture very much
my dad built this for me for our wedding and now it has snow falling on it
beautiful, wish it was the real thing.

No mason pics because it was nap time.

Simple

Sunday night my step mom and I made these wonderful Oreo truffles found Via Cassie McCully's blog. Knowing what a HUGE Oreo fan my husband is I just had to test them. So I did. We made little ones so they would last longer, once done I knew I was sending them to work with my husband because they are not good for my diet. I'm sure as heck not going to get this baby weight off with these sitting around.

I didn't get pics of them sadly I thought about it after I sent them away.

Monday I woke feeling sick and yesterday I spent much the day in bed. Today, I'm feeling better and even worked on getting closer to having the garage done which is a step closer to having my craft area ready to get my little business going. My husband did put a little downer on me today and told me I couldn't use the garage and wants me to do it in our room. OK!, fine with me!!! We have a huge room, and maybe this weekend, I can talk him into painting out room so I can get some shelves up. HUM? Probably will not happen with his help but he can keep the boys busy. Now just for a color....

Any suggestions?

Ordering a white bed frame, and I like the black and white modern vintage feel..... please tell!

Friday night

Good week, Valentine's day; dinner and flowers from the hubs. Went to Tacoma with my cheerleaders for the girl basketball team's playoff. Spent hours at Cafe Sip n' Play with the boys letting them play and play. Now it's Friday night about 10:45 pm. Sort of a lazy day, hanging out with my aunt and uncle that are visiting my parents, pt, and came home after pt to a sick little man. My poor 3 year old was running a 100 degree temp. Few things hold him down and this did. Red rosey checks and his body turning pink, couldn't get him medicine fast enough. Laid with my sweet little guy rubbing his back while he was supposed to be going to sleep. Went down stairs for a second and when I came back he slipped into my bed and tucked himself in. So cute, wish I could have got a picture of him with out him waking. Here are some fun pics from the week.

Still trying to get him to walk, he can do it just doesn't want to

Husband is not very romantic but the roses are pretty.

Carter and Mason playing. (mason's teething, hints the wet shirt)

Baby Showers

This weekend I had the pleasure of co-hosting a baby shower for my cousin~in~law's (Corrine) sister~in~law, Jennifer. Say that ten times fast.

(Jennifer is not my cousin~in~law but basically she is)

While talking with Corrine one day, she was talking about having the party at her house and she didn't really know what to do but had some ideas. I told her that I'd help her and we could have it at my house since I LOVE (understatement) throwing parties, shower, wedding, and so forth, I was all for helping. Corrine and I decided that even though the baby was a boy we were going to do a Valentine's theme but keep it to the red decorations, with hints of blue. Having thrown a bridal shower a few years ago for my friend having the same basic decor so we just needed to add a few extra items to what I had.

Hand made invitation, red decorations, two banners, red hanging hearts, Jennifer's baby shower sign, red and white poms, candy buffet, treat table, cupcake tower, and fruit punch/ice cream punch, and games with prizes later we were ready at 2pm on Saturday the 12th of February.

Little touch of blue and green
 for the boy

Maximus is his name

We didn't send Jenn an invite so that she could be surprised with part two of my gift.
(part one was the banner)

Hand made, with ribbon, and brown paper, this is not a great picture but we sewed red around the edges and bottom to make like a pocket for the insert to slide into.

The insert, with a poem that I made.

(I love the cricut, used many times through out the shower)

The other banner I made you can see over the candy buffet table.

Who knows mommy best

Draw baby on your head

Mommy to be

GIFT TIME!

Part three of my gift, a baby for a baby shower,
and the candy and lollipops, to go with the sweet theme.
 The framed invite, too

I could not figure out where my hand towel went.
Can you find it for me?

Good haul

Part of Corrine's gift for them

Another part of Corrine's gift. This has a little story behind it. Corrine's brother bought this at a Seahawk game (the whole family are Seahawk fans) for Corrine's boy when he was a baby and she kept it all these year and passed it back.

Sunday, I finished off the weekend with another baby shower for my friend Amanda's second baby.

GREAT TIMES, GREAT MEMORIES!
Great time and great memories.

Football Fever

Since the Seahawks were not in the Super Bowl this year (again) the only part I was really into were the commerical. I have to say my favorite was the Darth Vader as I'm it was so many others. Maybe it's because I'm a mom and could  see my 3 year old doing that but it really hit me as so cute.

Despite the lack of interest in the Super Bowl, Saturday night I brought out my boys ball pit. It's been put away for the last years because my little guy was just a baby and big brother can get a little crazy with it so safer in the garage it is.

Out it came and slowly I blew it up by mouth. I didn't know where the air pump was therefor I had no choice once the boys had their eyes on it. Sweetly Mason came over, ripped it out of my mouth and attempted to help blow it up. Sadly no pictures of it because hubs couldn't find the camera....(right were I said it was)

Back to Baby shower preparations, can't wait to post the pics and talk about it.

Happy Birthday's

The last week of January is a busy one for my family. We have 4 birthday, 3 in a row. I talked about it little last week when I blogged last. Busy busy, not to add in the others in January from friends, sister in law and my grandpa's.

Thursday was my husbands birthday. We didn't do too much since I was off to work (or so I thought) that when dad got home we surprised him with a "cake" and a big glass of milk, little happy birthday sign, and a homemade card from Carter with him writing Happy Birthday, I love you. Carter is getting so great at writing.

Friday was my dad's birthday. All day I ran errands trying to get all of Mason's birthday stuff. And my list of items was dad's gift too, but I couldn't find the right game. Thanks to my cousin in law Corrine, I got to get the grocery shopping by myself while Mason took his nap and Carter played wii with her son. That night, after I was off from work, I ran to JC Penny's and got my step mom's gift for my dad for her since she was up at work all day and got home just in time for dinner, picked up the DQ ice cream cake (the best!), went to four different stores to find the hunting game my dad wanted (Cabela's North American Adventures). For some reason every store had the Cabela's game but not the North America......if you know my dad you know he is into shooting. My first time shooting was when I was 5 years old.  But back to it. My cousin, my step brother and I surprised my dad around 9 with gifts and cake. Sadly my dad were not able to go because it was past their bed time and my hubs was working Saturday so off to bed they went.

Saturday, Mason's 1st birthday was great. Had a little party here at our house with family and some friends. Little crazy, first party we have had at our house. Glad I didn't invite more people. He had a wonderful time I think. Not much into the cake but loved the candies on it.

I messed up the faces but it was too late by the time I realized it. Oh well!

Today is the last birthday for a us until the end of March; which it kind of nice after all the back to back 4 in a week. Today's birthday is one in memory of my Grandma McAllister, or Grandma Mac as we called her. She passed away almost 14 years ago, when I was in 9th grade. She is missed everyday and thought of almost everyday. She was an amazing woman, the only person I know that could put a puzzle together upside down. One of my favorite memories of her and reason for my love of puzzles even though I don't have much time to them. She is one of the inspirational people in my crafts, (we did many together) as well as the little love I have for owls. A few decor I have, and the ring I wear that makes me think of her. There was a knitted owl that always hung on her wall, wisdom, Grandma was full of wisdom. Her crossword puzzles showed it.

Happy Birthday Grandma, I love you, and Miss you.
