Hoot Hoot

A few weeks ago I found myself in Charlotte Russe at the mall. Of course I founds some cute items to add to my collection in my closet. Not being able to fit into all my close right now gets me a little down so felling a little bummed out about that but very happy with the items I chose to buy I stood in line. While I stood there next in ling, I thought to myself, "man, I wish Lil Jess was here to help me shop," and stared off. I found myself looking at an item when I came back, I could believe what I was looking at. I have not seen this figure in over ten years from when my grandma Mac passed away. It was just like Grandma's knitted wall piece. And it was just the correct size to wear on my pointer finger. It was mine. The item you ask? A gold Owl ring. My grandma knitted an owl that hung on their walls for as long as I can remember and I loved that thing. It just feels like grandma. After paying, I walked out and with much excitement I walked very fast (not sure why) and took a picture of it with my phone and sent it to my mom. She knew exactly what I was thinking when she saw it called my right away and couldn't believe I found it either.

Here is a picture of what started my little "HOOT, HOOT" love lately.

Today my family, along with my dad, step mom, and our good friend The Seely's we went to the zoo. The rain wasn't so bad since we all knew that it was here to stay. A few stops into our scavenger hunt we women decided it was time for elephant ears and them men agreed. While us ladies stood in line, the guys took the young ones to the elephant area. After we received our elephant ears along with some added hot cocoa we joined them. We sat inside and watch one elephant and shared the elephant ears and cocoa with our own families. Mason loved them. At one point someone asked, "is it mean that we are sitting here eating these in front of him?" All laughed. While walking out of the building and on to our hunt behold there was a little sweet looking OWL! She was very pretty.

We went on but I kept thinking about the girl.

Once done, my parents dropped us off at home and we all took a little nap.
I needed to go the Target to pick up a few items, so I dropped my guys off at my parents house to watch the Blazer game with my dad. While dropping them off this book was taunting me. I picked it up; even though, I have looked at it about 50 times this week, and flipped through it. There was this one page with an item I really wanted to make. So, I wrote down what I needed and off I went.

Here is what the item was. I started them and just about the time I had to get into the decorating part Patty got home and helped.  SO HERE IS MY NIGHT BEFORE HALLOWEEN TREAT! With a special one for my cousin Allan. (Top right hand corner, I gave it glasses)

HAPPY HOOT-O-WEEN!

Some people are jerks

I got this email from my dad today. I can't believe some people. I understand that she might not have known what was going on but really didnt it have such a horriable moment of her day she had to write a letter to the newspaper.

Luke Air Force Base email of the day

Nothing  else needs to be said - God  Bless

    True  Story.....

Luke  AFB is west of Phoenix and is rapidly being  surrounded by
civilization that complains about  the noise from the base and its planes,
forgetting that it was there long before they  were..  A certain lieutenant
colonel at  Luke AFB deserves a big pat on the back.  Apparently, an
individual who lives somewhere  near Luke AFB wrote the local paper
complaining  about a group of F-16s that disturbed his/her  day at the mall.

When that  individual read the response from a Luke AFB  officer, it must
Have stung quite a  bit.

The  complaint:
'Question  of the day for Luke Air Force  Base:

Whom do we thank for the  morning air show? Last Wednesday, at precisely
9:11 A.M, a tight formation of four F-16 jets  made a low pass over
Arrowhead Mall, continuing  west over Bell Road at approximately 500 feet.
Imagine our good fortune!  Do the Tom  Cruise-wannabes feel we need this
wake-up call,  or were they trying to impress the cashiers at  Mervyns early
bird special?

Any  response would be  appreciated.

The  response:

Regarding  'A wake-up call from Luke's jets' On June 15, at  precisely 9:12
a.m . , a  perfectly timed four- ship fly by of F-1 6s from  the 63rd
Fighter Squadron at Luke Air Force Base  flew over the grave of Capt. Jeremy
Fresques.  Capt Fresques was an Air Force officer who was  previously
stationed at Luke Air Force Base and  was killed in Iraq on May 30, Memorial
Day.

At 9 a. m. on June 15, his  family and friends gathered at Sunland Memorial
Park in Sun City to mourn the loss of a husband,  son and friend. Based on
the letter writer's  recount of the fly by, and because of the jet  noise,
I'm sure you didn't hear the 21-gun  salute, the playing of taps, or my
words to the  widow and parents of Capt. Fresques as I gave  them their
son's flag on behalf of the President  of the United States and all those
veterans and  servicemen and women who understand the  sacrifices they have
endured..

A  four-ship fly by is a display of respect the Air  Force gives to those
who give their lives in  defense of freedom. We are professional aviators
and take our jobs seriously, and on June 15 what  the letter writer
witnessed was four officers  lining up to pay their ultimate  respects.

The letter writer asks,  'Whom do we thank for the morning air show? The
56th Fighter Wing will make the call for you,  and forward your thanks to
the widow and parents  of Capt Fresques, and thank them for you, for it  was
in their honor that my pilots flew the most  honorable formation of their
lives.

Only 2 defining forces have  ever offered to die for you....Jesus Christ and
the American Soldier.
One died for your  soul, the other for your  freedom.

Love  it! This has got to be one of the greatest quotes  of all time.
I thought this might make you smile. :-)

Iranian Air Defense Site: 'Unknown aircraft you are in Iranian airspace.
Identify yourself.'
Aircraft: 'This is a United States aircraft. I am in Iraqi airspace.'
Air Defense Site: 'You are in Iranian airspace. If you do not depart our

Aircraft: 'This is a United States Marine Corps FA-18 fighter.  Send 'em up,
I'll wait!'
Air Defense Site: ( ... total silence)

BAKING BUG IN MEMORY OF MILDRED MARSDEN AKA GRANDMA

Grandma and me at my grandparents 50th wedding ann

With this time of year I always have sad but happy thoughts on my mind.
This year marks the 6th year of my Grandma Marsden's passing. We were very close and it still hurts so much that she is not here with us anymore. We were very close. I still have not been back to her grave site but every time I drive by I always look and say, "hi" to her and tell her that, I love her.
So this year I decided to make some zucchini bread using her recipe. And while buying the ingredients I got a hit by a little baking bug.

WE MADE COOKIES TOO!

I bought sugar cookie dough and frosting.
Although they are not home made we did make them at home.
My step mom, Patty, and my cousin Allen came over to help. We had a lot of fun, even thought they didn't turn out looking too great. The dough I bought didn't bake like normal cookie dough so they all ended up looking like pumpkins. Sort of.
Mason's share
I have not clue where the umbrella and witch went to but we got a lot of pumpkins and the leafs were sort of there so we just iced them to look like like them.

Hopefully Hubs can get a more so that I can get a hall full of them.

MY YARD

When we bought out townhouse last year it came with a little "back yard."

All summer long we talked about different ways that we could fix it up and make it really nice. Roughly over a month ago my dad put pavers in his back yard making a very nice patio area...see my second post.
He had said that they had some extras that he was going to return and I said I want them. My hubs looked at me with this crazy look on his face that said, and what do you want me to do with those???!!!

I went on say that we should take out the rock path way and stepping stones and out them there. Two weeks later my dad and the missionaries came over and here it is.While my dad and I talked I thought, well lets take the rocks and make a little rock pit for Carter and his friends to play in. So off to Lowes my dad went buying wood to make a frame and now I have two new things done to my yard that just inspires me to finish figuring out what to do in the spring. Therefore I must get my house (inside) done so that I start planning.
LOL! I love the during picture, Carter loves his snow boots and I love that he is helping my dad in them and his underwear.

BEFORE
DURING
AFTER

I love the fall leaves on it, it's pretty too see them but I can't wait til the change color.
So where the dirty (flower beds) I want to plant some full shaded plants in the spring. If you know of some pretty ones let me know. I want to have lots of color.
 ROCK PIT

When it came time to pay my dad for it all he told me that it was my late birthday present. Thanks daddy!

Very inspired

Inspired.....To do it all

Fall is here and had really inspired me to move on from all the hard ships I have had not only over the summer but also since Feb. With having my second son on January 29! The day after my dad's birthday and two days after my husbands. I had another C-section. Unfortunatly. I tired to do a vbac but it didn't work but atleast I got the chance to push and exsperience what it would be like this time. I had trouble healing thought, but when I didn't take full time to relax and heal from major surgery I guess I brought it on myself.  But once I had heald to the point where my mid-wife allowed me to recieve my IUD, my body started to settle down and I was able to start working out again and feel better about myself. Little did I know that life had another hardship around the corner. I was invaulved in a very horriable accident with a 18 year old boy trying to kill himself.

Over the summer thanks to my chiropractor and message theripist, I heald once more form my injuries from the accident. I now feel like I am back to almost my old self and starting to lose this extra 20 lbs of baby wieght that has been haunting me everytime I look in a mirror or down at myself.

With the new fall season, I have a new look on my current life and it's time to get things done that I have had to put off and with the holiday season around the corner I want to get these things done so I can have my holiday gathering again which I haven't had in a few years since we had our wedding in '08 and buying a house at the end of ' 09 and moving then trying to get the house  somewhat ready for having our second son in the beginning of '10. I also want to get ready for making candies for Chirstmas and cookies for Thanksgiving along with this year I really want to make my grandmothers zuchini bread. I miss it and with the 6 year mark this month of her passing I think it's time to make it.

This weekend my inspiration goals:

Today: Get Carter's bed framed finished being sanded and seal ready to stain.
Sat:
Morning: Take Carter over to Lowes for thier kids build it shop to make something
Noon: To MVHS for the Cheer Clinic
Evening: To my dad's to start making the boys halloween costume and hopefully make the Zuchini bread. And hope that the hubs gets the new microwave put in.
Sun: Church, Seahawks game (for the hubs and boys) and work on the garage.

Next week: decided if I like the paint color downstairs and get it done.

I CAN DO IT!

Husbands...what else can I say

Husbands are so frustrating sometimes. I'm not saying I don't love him but grrr. He is always losing things and tonight it was his keys once again. But he always puts them on the counter or by the front door, he said. But only if he did. He brought them up stairs and put them on my night stand and at some point the were knocked off with some pants. Well after looking for almost an hour, waking up poor little Carter from dead sleep (that boys sleeps just like his mama) G gave up. That just made me matter cuz I didn't want to wake up @ 5 to take him to work because I would have to wake up the boys as well. I came in my room say the stuff on the floor I picked them up and behold what else.....HIS KEYS! Did I get a thank you, or did Carter get an apology, nope. Now Carter can't fall back to sleep. That poor little guy get everything blamed on him and he shouldn't, just because he is a little guy it's always his fault. Not to say that I don't blame him for things but almost 100% of the time, he did it and I'm not just guessing.  Good night my little love, hope you sleep good.

Silly little Carter

So when I get to my dad's house today he was not home.
I asked my little brother, "where is my dad?"
Reply, " Lowes, he should be back any min."
"ok thanks, I'll just wait for him then."

I sit down at the table and start playing on the computer.
I hear Carter saying something, not sure I listen closer....

"Dad!...DAD...DAD!!!" I hear him calling
I walk outside and say to him, "Daddy is at work."

His reply, "No, daddy at the store."

"No, my daddy, your grandpa is at the store"

"No, he's my dad."
"Dad, dad, come out, come out where ever you are." He yells again.

Confused little guy.
